"I'M FASCINATED BY HOW WE LEARN AND BY WHEN WE ARE OPEN TO LEARN"

ABOUT ME

I am an independent team player and I like to build. I have secured this independence by being an entrepreneur. In addition, I like co-operating. With some colleagues / clients for many years. I believe in the power of a team, a group, a board. There is nothing as fulfilling as reaching the top together. Together matters in this world.

From my Gestalt background, I focus on personal leadership: understanding myself, how I connect with others, and the impact I have on my environment. Experience is central to this approach. A key indicator is "aliveness"—what energizes me, and where does my energy drain away? From my theater background, I focus on the organization as a whole: what role is expected of me, and can or do I want to fulfill it? I encourage individuals and organizations to explore (and, if necessary, push) their boundaries and to define their roles. An organization is, at its core, human work. When we get it right, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Background

As a child, I wanted to become a teacher. After attending the Pedagogical Academy, I found it too scholastic. The theater was pulling me in. After graduating from the Theater School in Amsterdam, I won a famous cabaret competition and received the jury-prize and the audience-prize. ‘A strong theater personality’ quoted by the press. I loved performing but missed direct, personal interaction. So, my interests moved towards business. Taylor-made performances and presentations.

My quest to ‘what moves me and what moves you’ led me to Gestalt. Gestalt became a way of living; in the here and now and connected. I studied at BOLT in Zaltbommel and the NSG in Amsterdam. In 2005 I completed my MSc at the Middlesex University in London.

These insights into human nature made me move to my new profession, trainer and coach on the topic of leadership; personal mastery, managerial leadership and now towards new ways of taking and giving ‘the lead’.

In short: always in motion.

And what is next?

"WHAT MOVES ME AND WHAT MOVES YOU"
